Abstract

Friction and wear characteristics of samples of the thin-walled cutting tool of 65 Mg steel hardened by the WC and CrN nanocoatings was investigated. The test results show that the highest wear resistance and low friction characteristic for variant with the double-layer Cr + CrN nanocoating of 300 nm thickness.
