Pistons of engines are made of high-strength aluminum casting alloys, three times lighter than steel, and thus the problem of balancing these engines is greatly alleviated. But at the same time, the question arises of a local increase in the wear resistance of these alloys, especially at high temperatures.

So, it was revealed that among all the technological measures to solve the problem of the first groove of the internal combustion engine, it is important to identify such measures that would be cheap while maintaining efficiency, would not require complex and costly equipment and were available in operational facilities within Chery prophylactic work on the engine.

The aim of the work is the scientific development of new protective coatings to strengthen and restore the pistons of the engines of aviation ground equipment and airfield machines. To study the structure, phase composition, as well as the distribution and composition of elements in each of the phases of the friction surfaces of the coatings, X-ray microanalysis was used. The results of the study of the structure of the coating and the substrate according to the results of micro X-ray spectral analysis confirmed the uniform distribution of the ceramic components of the composite coating. Thus, silicon carbide and aluminum oxide phases were detected in the coating and the particles are very similar in composition to the substrate material, foundry silumin Al-25. It has been established that the adhesion qualities of the fractional composition do not affect, however, preference should be given to the fractional composition up to 5 microns, since such an abrasive does not wear out the steel counterbody.
ER -
