Abstract

The detonation method is used to deposit TiB2–(Fe–Mo) composite coatings on steel 3 specimens. The mechanical and tribotechnical properties of these coatings are studied in comparison with steel 65G etalon. The abrasive wear of coatings is investigated. The influence of the ratio of refractory component (TiB2) and metal binder (Fe-Mo) in the composite powder on resistance to abrasive wear are studied. It is established that coatings of TiB2–40 wt.% (Fe–Mo) composite have greater wear resistance. The coatings of TiB2–40 wt.% (Fe–Mo) composite have a good adhesion and cohesion strange (up to 125 MPa). The development coatings are prospective for parts of abrasive wear
