Consider the different modes of slides: marginal, mixed, hydrodynamic and hydrostatic and transition criteria from one mode to another. Experimental results characterizing the uneven wear of the guides in length. Analyzed existing approaches to estimate wear of slides: fatigue theory of wear of the surface layers and in the simulation of the slider elastic beam on an elastic Foundation to determine the char-acteristics of the contact pressure.
